PIANO THEORY
Music is a language with an alphabet of 7 letters (A-G) and the lines and spaces (the staff) you see above is a seemingly cryptic system where the placement of a circle represents a particular letter and the pitch of the note. The student needs to memorize the lines and spaces on paper and where those notes are, on their instrument. For the Pianist, their job is a little harder since they need to also learn the bass clef (seen on the right), which is like another dialect of the same language. The notes of the musical alphabet are the same on the instrument, regardless of what Clef is being used.
